Paddling Pools
2018/2021
19 industrially produced paddling pools in their serial arrangement result in a "neon tube" of a completely different kind. Many small LEDs transform them into glowing rings and the play of light creates the illusion of a moving surface.
To allow the light stream to travel from one side to the other, the bottoms of the pools have been removed. This allows exciting insights into the 28-meter-long tube. The light is both an atmospheric and determinant element. It transforms the air-filled everyday objects into a kinetic installation and allows the viewer's gaze to wander into the depth. In their form, the Paddling Pools combine real and virtual, voluminous and "graphic" features.
